AGON middleweight Vincenzo Gualtieri secured a unanimous but very close points victory over Alexander Pavlov in Neu-Ulm.

Ex-IBF middleweight world champion Vincenzo Gualtieri celebrated a hard-fought points victory over 12 rounds against Alexander Pavlov from Hamburg in the Ratiopharm Arena in Neu-Ulm, Bavaria.
Gualtieri (24-1-1, 8 knockouts) secured the vacant WBO European middleweight title with the victory. Two of the three judges scored the fight 116-113, while a third saw the duel even closer at 115-114. The rematch of the German-German middleweight clash served as a co-main event for Felix Sturm’s comeback against Benjamin Blindert.
Pavlov (22-5, 16 knockouts) already lost narrowly in 2020 when he fought for the vacant German middleweight championship (BDB) in Charlottenburg, Berlin, losing to Gualtieri by majority decision. Pavlov is currently ranked 5th in the WBO world rankings and 6th in the IBF rankings. The current world champion of both federations is Janibek Alimkhanuly.
Undercard: Shadalov and Wall remain unbeaten
In the super featherweight division, Hamsat Shadalov (10-0, 3 knockouts) claimed a convincing points victory over Eduardo Bajak (5-1, 2 knockouts). The scores were 100-90, 99-92 and 99-91, with the Tokyo Olympian securing the vacant BDB International title.
Super welterweight Paul Wall (9-0, 6 knockouts) celebrated an impressive third-round knockout victory over Italy’s Joshua Riccardo (10-3, 2 knockouts) to record his third knockout win in a row.
In the light heavyweight division, Hamza Salahudin (15-0, 13 knockouts) dominated with a knockout in round 5 against Wilmer Baron (7-9, 2 knockouts). In addition, Malek Semmo (1-0, 1 knockout) celebrated a successful professional debut with a first-round knockout of Gabor Gorbics (27-52-3, 16 knockouts).
