Revenge successful. BC Traktor Schwerin put in a strong performance to defeat BC Marburg 11:9 in the Bundesliga rematch in Schwerin. Traktor had suffered a 9:12 defeat at the Hesse club in January. This time, four of the seven BCT athletes who took to the ring – Simon Rieth (69 kg), Oliver Ginkel (81 kg), Melvin Kahrimanovic (91 kg) and Merveille Binda (+91 kg) – won their fights.

Surprise at the start

In the first fight of the evening, Traktor lightweight Razmik Sargsyan only managed a draw against Binali Shakhmandarov, to the surprise of more than 700 spectators in the Palmberg Arena. Sargsyan was superior in the first two rounds and led the fistfight with technical and tactical finesse, but then narrowly lost the third round. It later transpired that one of the three judges had mistyped the decision.

After a 1:1 draw in the opener, Ahmed Ham (BCT) – who had come from Bavaria at short notice to replace the injured Daniel Mayer – lost on points to Denis Bril, multiple German champion and winner of over 130 fights. 3:2 for Marburg.

Rieth scores first victory points

Welterweight Simon Rieth scored the first two victory points for BC Traktor against the constantly offensive Assan Hansen from Marburg. Coached in the ring corner by his father Frank Rieth, he won an intense and dominant fight over three rounds against the German number one welterweight. 4:4.

After the fight night break, the heavier athletes entered the ring. First of all, Berlin youngster Khalil El Moussa, who was competing for Traktor for the first time, had a tough time in the middle (75 kg). Against Magomed Schachidov, Khalil started offensively and courageously, but was already counted in round one. The referee stopped the unequal fight after he again showed his effectiveness in round two. 5:6.

Kahrimanovic sweeps fans off their seats

Team Traktor took the last three victories: Oliver Ginkel won on points against the strong Vitalij Walter in the light heavyweight class. 7:7. In the heavyweight division, Melvin Kahrimanovic swept the boxing fans off their feet in a ring battle with Kevin Lebowski and a narrow points victory. 9:8. And in the final fight, super-heavyweight Merveille Binda showed enormous willpower against the far more experienced boxer Delil Azgan to secure the final 11:9 victory.
