On January 10, AGON hopeful Granit Shala (18-1, 7 knockouts) and Croatian top man Petar Milas (19-1, 15 knockouts) will clash in the Rudolf Weber Arena. The two will meet in the co-main event of Agit Kabayel’s big “Homecoming” event against Poland’s Damian Knyba in front of 13,000 fans.

“It’s a unique opportunity”

Shala vs. Milas is a duel that would be the main fight at any other event. For Shala, the spot in the co-main event is more than just another fight, it’s the moment he’s been working towards for years.

Shala: “It’s a unique opportunity that you don’t often get in life to box in front of 13,000 people on such a huge stage. We’ve accepted every opponent, never turned anything down, never shied away from big names. We’ve earned this position with constant belief, hard work and focus. Now it’s time to finish the job and take the next step. Milas is a very experienced man, an absolute yardstick. But I believe in myself and I know I can do it.”

AGON promoter Ingo Volckmann also emphasizes the importance of the duel and the determination of his heavyweight. “After fights against Emanuel Odiase and Peter Kadiru failed to materialize, Petar Milas seized his chance. Granit was always ready – for any opponent that was proposed to us. This year we organized our own events in Germany and Cuba and boxed on big cards all over the world. Now to be represented at Agit Kabayel’s event makes us proud. Thanks to Frank Warren for the cooperation. Granit is hot and will show in the ring that he is ready for the top.”

Shala vs. Milas will be a fight between two hungry heavyweights, a high-caliber touchstone, a fight that could shake up the rankings. While Kabayel wants to defend his WBC Interim World Championship belt, Shala wants to prove that he too is ready to play in the concert of the greats.
