Deontay Wilder vs Derek Chisora is almost a done deal – but according to BoxingScene, the signatures are still missing. Chisora’s “contract video” is causing doubt, while Tyson Fury is already predicting the winner.

A heavyweight duel between Deontay Wilder and Derek Chisora is being discussed for April in London. Behind the scenes, however, the matter is not yet “signed and sealed”. BoxingScene reports that official contracts have not yet been signed. Wilder’s co-manager Shelly Finkel also confirms that talks are ongoing and are “close” to an agreement.
Chisora has announced that fight number 50 will be his last. When the duel first picked up speed publicly on Monday, Chisora posted a video showing him signing a contract. However, according to BoxingScene, a source close to him calls the paper in the clip “hot air” rather than genuine.
Fury gets involved
Tyson Fury also comments on the possible duel. He says he has boxed both of them three times and predicts a knockout victory for Chisora . At the same time, he calls for a federation to “put a belt” on the fight. In sporting terms, a puncher meets a veteran who has looked stable of late: Wilder has suffered setbacks after the Fury trilogy, while Chisora is coming off victories over Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce and Otto Wallin after his last Fury defeat. As long as the signings are missing, the April date remains a big “almost”. But: The topic has been around for a long time – and the PR machine is already running.
