Noel Mikaelian has officially accepted his WBC belt and champion’s ring from the WBC. At the “Martes de Café” in Mexico City, his team also announced big goals for 2026 – including unification fights.

Noel Mikaelian is now officially the WBC cruiserweight world champion. At the traditional “Martes de Café” of the WBC, “Dark Horse” received his championship belt and the title ring. Mikaelian had won the world title on December 13 when he defeated Badou Jack unanimously on points to win his second world championship.
On site, the cruiserweight also addressed the fans and the federation. He thanked them for the reception in Mexico, praised the atmosphere and called the belt “the most important and most valuable”. He particularly highlighted the Mexican boxing fans. His manager Anthony Girges also used the occasion to make a clear statement. He thanked WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán and explained that the team wanted to “hold the title for a long time”. Girges held out the prospect of “very big plans” for 2026: Mikaelian is to unify titles and ideally become Undisputed Champion.
