Patrick Korte will face Eugen Buchmüller in the ring on Friday in his hometown of Essen. Former world champion William Scull will also be in action.

Patrick Korte is set for a special evening on Friday. The heavyweight from Essen will step into the ring in his hometown and face the experienced Eugen Buchmüller at the Eissporthalle. For Korte, who has already boxed in England and Nigeria, this homecoming in Essen is an emotional highlight of his career.
“Sure, the pressure is greater since I’m fighting at home in Essen,” said Korte. “On the one hand, it’s obviously a huge boost, but of course there are also the fans’ expectations, which I want to live up to.” Coach Ilias Essaoudi believes his protégé is in top physical shape, but urges him to stay focused: “He can’t let his emotions get the better of him and has to be focused from the very first second!” Buchmüller is an experienced opponent who has also undergone intensive preparation. “My preparation went well. For four weeks, I had two training sessions a day with plenty of sparring,” explained the Bremerhaven native.
Another highlight of the evening is the return of former IBF world champion William Scull. The Cuban, now under contract with Ruhe Boxing, will face Venezuelan Evander Castillo and is looking to get back on track after two losses. The undercard also features a strong lineup. Among others, Lorena Bunoza will step into the ring for a rematch against Angela Cannizzaro. A total of up to 13 professional bouts are scheduled. The fight night will be streamed worldwide on DAZN, PrimeFight, Fight+, and VIASPO.
