Shakur Stevenson has clear plans for his debut with Zuffa Boxing: The undefeated champion wants to face Devin Haney in the ring.

Shakur Stevenson has set his sights on his preferred opponent. Following his move to Zuffa Boxing , the undefeated four-division world champion wants to face Devin Haney next. Stevenson made this clear on the DAZN show *Inside The Ring*. “Devin is my number one right now,” Stevenson said. While a bout with Gervonta Davis is also high on his list, Haney has recently brought his name into the mix publicly, along with his father. “I’m the kind of guy who answers those kinds of calls,” Stevenson explained.
The 29-year-old expects Haney to vacate his WBO welterweight title. A catchweight bout at 144 pounds is then scheduled to take place. Both boxers had already discussed a possible matchup on social media in early June. Stevenson is convinced that a victory over Haney would further cement his exceptional status in the sport of boxing. “If I beat Teofimo Lopez first and then Devin Haney, there will be no doubt that I’m the number one pound-for-pound fighter,” said the champion.
In late January, Stevenson secured the WBO and Ring Magazine super lightweight titles with a clear points victory over Teofimo Lopez, thereby becoming a world champion in a fourth weight class. Haney most recently won the WBO welterweight title with a decisive victory over Brian Norman Jr. and is also rumored to be moving to Zuffa Boxing.
