Parker vs Allen: Heavyweight clash at “5v5”?

Frank Warren brings up the heavyweight duel between Dave Allen vs. Joseph Parker for the next “5v5” event.

An exciting heavyweight duel could soon become a reality: Joseph Parker and Dave Allen are in talks for the next edition of the “Queensberry vs. Matchroom: 5v5” format. Promoter Frank Warren confirmed that the fight was conceivable – and in his view would even be “a particularly good fit for Parker”.

Dave Allen (24-7-2, 19 knockouts) has brought new fire to his career after two spectacular clashes with Johnny Fisher last year. After a controversial points defeat in December 2024, the “White Rhino” returned the favor impressively in May 2025 with a knockout victory in round 5. His performance catapulted him back into the limelight – a possible fight against Deontay Wilder was also recently discussed.

Joseph Parker, former WBO world champion and current mandatory challenger of this association, is actually the next opponent of the winner of Usyk vs. Dubois (July 19, Wembley). But since his last fight only lasted two rounds against Martin Bakole, the Queensberry camp is obviously looking for an interim opponent – and Allen could be just the man for the job. Warren says: “A year ago, we wouldn’t have considered this fight – but now it could really work.”

Whether Parker vs. Allen will actually be part of the next 5v5 card remains to be seen. Queensberry won the first edition in June 2024 with a sensational 10:0 over Matchroom. A rematch between promotional giants Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren is considered likely – and with Parker vs. Allen as a heavyweight duel, the format would once again have a real punch factor.
