The superfight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford on September 13 in Las Vegas will be streamed worldwide on Netflix. At no additional cost to the more than 300 million subscribers, as Turki Al-Sheikh announced today, Tuesday. “On September 13, two legends of boxing will finally face each other in the fight of the century,” said the Saudi entertainment minister. “Together with Dana White and Sela, we will deliver something truly incredible in Las Vegas for fans around the world to enjoy via Netflix.”
The three-city press tour for the Riyadh Season event kicks off on Friday, June 20, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The very place where Canelo and Crawford faced each other for the first time last month after the Mexican won against William Scull. The press tour will continue two days later, on June 22, in New York at Fanatics Fest. The Big Apple will host some of the sport’s biggest stars. The press tour will conclude on Friday, June 27 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
“I’m over the moon to make history again, and this time on a Riyadh Season Card that will be broadcast on Netflix,” said Canelo. “On September 13, I’m ready to show once again that I’m the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.” Crawford replied: “My perfect record speaks for itself. I’m the best fighter in the world. No matter against which opponent or in which weight class … I’ve always come out on top. On September 13, my hand will be raised once again.”
