Devin Haney (32-0, 15 knockouts) and Teofimo Lopez (22-1, 13 knockouts) have officially signed for their long-awaited superfight. The fight between the two exceptional boxers will take place on August 16, 2025 in Saudi Arabia and will be held in the welterweight division. Both fighters are among the so-called “Four Horsemen” of US boxing – alongside Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia – and have already proven themselves on the big stage on several occasions. Haney recently defeated José Ramirez, Lopez prevailed against Arnold Barboza Jr. .

The fight will be monitored by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA). Haney’s team, in particular his father and manager Bill Haney, had recently publicly pushed for the appointment and heavily criticized Lopez. “Devin will punish Teofimo for every disrespectful thing he says,” Bill Haney told BoxingScene.

It remains to be seen whether the fight will be a real classic – Haney in particular has not shone in the ring recently. But the duel between two of the most influential names of their generation promises plenty of excitement and prestige.
