In a tense battle, Chris Eubank Jr came out on top with a unanimous points victory over Conor Benn. All three judges scored the fight 116-112 in Eubank’s favor – a clear triumph on British soil at the sold-out Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with 65,000 fans.

The encounter between the two British rivals was not only explosive in sporting terms, but also a battle for family pride. Three years after the originally scheduled pairing – which had to be canceled due to two positive doping tests from Benn at the time – Eubank Jr and Benn finally stepped into the ring. Their fathers, the legendary Chris Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn, had already made boxing history in the 90s with two bloody duels.

There was tension in the air even before the first bell: referee Victor Laughlin had to forcefully ask the two opponents to raise their fists in a salute of respect. Right at the start, Eubank Jr, considerably taller and physically superior, made his first exclamation mark with a left hook. His left jab hit Benn again and again as he acted uncontrollably and wildly.

Open exchange of blows

Benn went down in the fifth round – but it was only a slip, not a knockdown. Nevertheless, Eubank seized the opportunity, stepped up the pace and followed up with a cracking right hand. Although Benn countered furiously and worked Eubank’s body, the clear advantage was on the side of his opponent, who dominated with his precise work behind the jab.

The spectators were treated to an open exchange of blows: Eubank landed round after round of heavy shots, including a hard right hook just before the end of the round, but Benn bit back. A clean left hook from Benn had the crowd screaming and showed that he would not surrender without a fight.

In the twelfth and final round, Eubank left nothing to chance: He pushed Benn to the ropes with an aggressive combination. A powerful left hook seemed to briefly injure Benn. Eubank sensed the knockout and went for it, but Benn saved himself with a body kick and showed heart right to the end.

Chris Eubank Jr deservedly wins on points and takes the honors in an emotionally charged family showdown. With this performance, he makes a clear statement and takes the old rivalry between the families to the next generation level.
