Sarah Liegmann has defended her WBF featherweight world title! She dominated Liliana Martinez in Meckenheim and celebrated a unanimous points victory in front of her home crowd.

In a memorable night at the Jungholzhalle in Meckenheim, Sarah Liegmann (12-0, 3 knockouts) defended her WBF featherweight world title. The 23-year-old southpaw from Bonn defeated the experienced Liliana Martinez (25-21, 16 knockouts) unanimously on points and delivered an almost perfect performance. In front of her home crowd and with the support of her own fans, Liegmann dominated from the first to the last round. Two judges scored the fight 100-90 – giving Liegmann every single round – while the third judge wrote a clear 99-91 on his score sheet.
The 41-year-old Martinez from the Dominican Republic was seen as the toughest test in Liegmann’s flawless career to date. The clash was all the more exciting as both boxers have been sparring partners for years and know each other very well. Despite this history, Liegmann left no doubt about her superiority. With precise counter punches, controlled footwork and clear ring general behavior, she consistently kept Martinez at a distance and landed the clearer punches herself. In the end, the judges scored a clear points victory for Liegmann. This meant that “The Princess” celebrated her 12th victory in her 12th professional fight.
