Lara Ochmann secures the WBO International Super Featherweight title with a clear points victory over Amanda Chan and moves one step closer to a world title shot

Super featherweight Lara Ochmann secured another title on Saturday evening at the Gorzelniaski Hall in Flensburg. The German defeated Singapore’s Amanda Chan by unanimous decision in a bout broadcast live on DAZN, thereby winning the WBO International Super Featherweight title.
Ochmann (17-2, 6 KOs) controlled much of the title fight from a distance. With a precise jab, strong footwork, and her technical superiority, she dictated the action for long stretches and emerged as the clear winner on the judges’ scorecards after ten rounds. The official scores were 99-91, 99-91, and 99-92, securing Ochmann the WBO International super featherweight title.
For Chan (12-1, 5 KOs), it was the first loss of her professional career. In her first bout outside Asia, the Singaporean was unable to build on her previous performances in her German debut and struggled to find a way to counter the German’s controlled boxing style.
With this victory, Ochmann moves one step closer to a potential world title fight against the reigning WBO super featherweight champion, Alycia Baumgardner. The German prospect was ranked eighth in the WBO rankings prior to the bout and is likely to climb further in the upcoming rankings following her latest title win.
There was also an early victory to celebrate in the undercard. Ferdinand Pilz (28-1, 22 KOs) stopped Romanian Flavius Biea (24-3, 12 KOs) in the middleweight division in the fifth round. For Pilz, it was his twelfth consecutive fight without a loss, after suffering his only professional defeat more than ten years ago against Steven Butler.
