Three up-and-coming boxers, Alen Rahimic, Jan Meiser and Victor Cakiqi, have signed with promoter Almin Kuc. Their premieres will take place on May 10 at the MBS Arena in Potsdam.

Promoter Almin Kuc has signed three up-and-coming and promising boxers from Berlin and the surrounding area in recent weeks: Alen Rahimic, Jan Meiser and Victor Cakiqi. Kuc Boxing Promotion, which he manages and is based in Berlin-Spandau, has made a very good name for itself in the German boxing scene over the past three years with six events in Falkensee, Brandenburg, including two with top-class world championship fights in cooperation with AGON Sports.
Cakiqi fights for DM title
Almin Kuc’s three new “musketeers” want to develop their boxing skills in collaboration with his team and take the next successful steps in their careers – first at national level and then on the international stage. It has now also been decided when the trio will have their first fights for Kuc Boxing Promotion. Rahimic, Meiser and Cakiqi will step into the ring on May 10 at the MBS Arena in Brandenburg’s capital Potsdam. There will also be two fights with the two Serbian heavyweights Sanel Hasanovic and Dusan Veletic, who also box for the Berlin promotion. Further fights are still being planned.
For one fighter from the quintet mentioned above, a national title will already be at stake in Potsdam. The 22-year-old Victor Cakiqi, who has won all of his twelve professional fights to date (nine of them by knockout), will be gunning for the vacant German BDB (Bund Deutscher Berufsboxer) welterweight championship on his debut for his new stable. Cakiqi is trained by Georg Bramowski, long-time “co” of coaching legend Ulli Wegner. His opponent in this ten-round duel will be 29-year-old Justin Schmager (5-1-1, 3 knockouts) from the Köpenick stable of Uwe Gorecki.
“Local Heroes” in action
Experienced Berlin half-middleweight Jan Meiser (17-2-1, 10 knockouts), who like Cakiqi has already boxed successfully at Kuc events, will contest an eight-round fight in Potsdam. In his 21st professional fight, the 30-year-old Kazakh-born fighter will take on “circus director” Angelo Frank (16-2-0, 10 knockouts) from Hamburg.

Super featherweight Alen Rahimic will not be competing for a national title until next year. The native Bosnian, who lives in Groß Glienicke in Brandenburg, was successful in his professional debut on November 9, 2024. Prior to that, the 26-year-old celebrated great success with the amateurs. Rahimic was twice German champion in the featherweight and lightweight divisions and four times German team champion with the BC Traktor Schwerin relay team. In Potsdam, Almin Kuc’s new signing will contest a build-up fight against Atilla Kayabasi (12-17-0).
Hasanovic and Veletic aim for the top
Build-up fights with the aim of improving their world ranking positions are also on the agenda for heavyweights Sanel Hasanovic and Dusan Veletic (9-1-1, 5 knockouts). The 26-year-old Hasanovic, who has been a sparring partner in the camps of heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk on several occasions, will fight an eight-round bout in Potsdam. A six-rounder is planned for Veletic, who is already ranked in the top 100 in the world. The 29-year-old made a brief foray into the amateurs in his home country last year and became European vice-champion in the super-heavyweight division in Belgrade.

The event organized by Kuc Boxing Promotion on May 10 begins at 6 p.m. in the MBS Arena in Potsdam. Information on further fights (a total of eight to ten fights are planned) and the boxers will follow. Tickets will be available shortly at www.eventim.de.
