Amanda Serrano remains loyal to MVP. The world champion in seven different weight classes has signed a lifetime contract with Jake Paul ‘s promotion. This not only secures the continuation of her career in the ring, but also an important role after the end of her active career.

Amanda Serrano signs lifetime contract

The Puerto Rican boxer and MVP officially announced the agreement. “Signing this lifetime contract with MVP means I can keep fighting – not just in the ring, but for the next generation of women in combat sports,” Serrano told ESPN. After her career, she will serve as President of the Women’s Boxing Initiative at MVP. There she wants to promote young talent and further advance women’s boxing.

MVP focuses on women’s boxing

Since MVP was founded by Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, the promotion has increasingly focused on women’s boxing. Serrano has played a key role in this. Her fight against Katie Taylor in 2022 was the first women’s main event at Madison Square Garden. She also set new standards for women’s fights with the introduction of twelve three-minute rounds.

Possible third clash with Katie Taylor

Serrano and Taylor have already fought two epic duels. Taylor narrowly won the first by split decision. Taylor also came out on top in the 2023 rematch, this time on points. A third meeting is under discussion and could take place this summer.

How big are your sporting ambitions?

But even apart from a possible Serrano-Taylor trilogy, there could still be highlights at the end of her career. Serrano won world titles in seven weight classes, but she was never undisputed. Why not try again at featherweight now? The 29-year-old Australian Skye Nicolson (12-0) is the reigning WBC champion. And then there is IBF world champion Nina Meinke. After Serrano left her standing in the ring on March 3, 2024 in Puerto Rico without having achieved anything, there is still unfinished business to settle here.

Jake Paul praises Serrano as a role model

Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian were delighted with the contract extension. “Amanda Serrano is the heart and soul of MVP,” said the two founders. She has revolutionized women’s boxing and stands for equality at all levels. MVP sees her not only as an athlete, but also as a leader for future generations.

Serrano fights for equal rights in boxing

With MVP, Serrano has created a platform to take women’s boxing to the next level. She is campaigning for equal pay, equal round lengths and more recognition in boxing. Her collaboration with MVP aims to advance these goals.
