Granit Shala: “I’m going to get what’s coming to me!”

Shala is combative. “I’ve learned from my mistakes,” he says. He has put his defeat in April against Oleksandr Zakhozhyi behind him. Back then, he was fighting for the EBU European heavyweight title. Now he wants to get back to winning ways with a victory against Dietz. Dietz, also known as “Triple D”, is unbeaten in 13 fights. He has made a name for himself with his style. But Shala is convinced: “He’s only cooking with water too.

Granit Shala shows strong first-round form

In September, Shala defeated the experienced Argentinian Emilio Ezequiel Zarate. The fight in Berlin’s AGON-Sportpark ended prematurely. This victory paved the way for the duel against Dietz. In preparation, Shala trained with several professionals from Ukraine. “I’m fit and ready,” he says.

Boxing fans should not miss out on Saturday. Shala will be competing in the “Lion’s Den”. Karlsruhe is Dietz’s home. The tension is palpable. The outcome of the fight could decide Shala’s career.
