Our knockout of the week comes from Cain Sandoval, who brutally knocked out Jino Rodrigo with a punch combination just before the final bell.
In a fast-paced duel, the US American Cain Sandoval prevailed against the tough Filipino Jino Rodrigo and secured the T.K.O. victory in the tenth and final round. The 24-year-old was already clearly ahead on the scorecards with 88-83 (2x) and 89-82, but Sandoval wanted to finish with an exclamation mark.
A powerful three-punch combination finally ended the evening for Rodrigo, who had put up a strong fight until then. For Sandoval (17-0, 15 knockouts), it was his 15th early victory – and another statement in the competitive semi-welterweight division. Rodrigo (13-6-2, 11 knockouts) remained brave, but found no answer to the favorite’s increasing frequency of punches in the final phase. With this victory, Sandoval has recommended himself for bigger tasks – a duel against a top 15 boxer in the limit could be next on the agenda.
