The next SES Boxing Gala will take place in Chemnitz. Artur Reis (15-1-0, 9 knockouts) will contest the main fight at the “Kraftverkehr Chemnitz” venue on November 22. The SES boxer, who holds the “IBF Europe” super middleweight title, will move up to light heavyweight. There Reis will challenge the reigning WBO European champion, Mateusz Tryc (16-2-0, 8 knockouts).

Victory in Magdeburg

It was a “bloody” fight in May at the SES Boxing anniversary gala in Magdeburg between Artur Reis and Mate Rudan for the IBF European Championship title. The SES super-middleweight was aware of his physical strengths and those of his strong opponent from Croatia. Both boxers were correspondingly dynamic in this fight, which was fought very quickly and with a lot of “body contact” over the full round distance.

Two cuts opened up on Rudan’s head early on and the bleeding continued throughout the fight. Reis, who suffered minor cuts himself, gained the upper hand with his extremely dynamic and uncomfortable boxing style. After ten thrilling rounds, however, the 32-year-old from Wolfsburg was the clear and unambiguous points winner and celebrated his IBF title.

Reis will now face Poland’s Mateusz Tryc in Chemnitz, who won the WBO European Championship title in May. Tryc won a great fight against Nick Hannig at the SES Boxing Gala in Potsdam with a final knockout.

Steinforth praises “special atmosphere”

“The ‘Kraftverkehr Chemnitz’ is always a desired location for an SES Boxing Gala,” explained Ulf Steinforth. “After the extremely positive experiences in recent years, especially because of the special atmosphere, the great atmosphere, the very enthusiastic boxing audience and the subsequent party in the VIP area, everything fits together perfectly here.”

The SES promoter said of the main fight with Artur Reis: “Artur will move up from super-middleweight to light-heavyweight for this title fight and thus also start on the path to further international ‘consecrations’ in this weight class. He has had his sights set on this ‘promotion’ for some time.” In terms of his physical condition, Reis has no difficulty in moving between the two weight classes.

Xhoxhaj, Dobler and Zocher also in the ring

Other fights include cruiserweight Armend Xhoxhaj and the two heavyweights Michel Dobler and Ingolf Zocher. While Xhoxhaj wants to position himself for a title fight again, “Team Germany” fighter Dobler also wants to successfully contest his fourth professional fight in Chemnitz. Zocher will also enter the ring for his fourth professional fight and will face Lucas Schmitt on November 22.

The MDR will broadcast this SES Boxing Gala in the program “Sport im Osten – Boxen live” from the Kraftverkehr Chemnitz.
