Agit Kabayel’s big show will take place in Oberhausen on Saturday (January 10). BOXSPORT has compiled the most important information about the “Homecoming” and tells you who else will be in the ring.

There are only a few days left until Agit Kabayel’s eagerly awaited “homecoming”. On January 10, Germany’s heavyweight star will be back in the ring at home for the first time in almost three years. Kabayel will face Poland’s Damian Knyba in front of 13,000 fans in the Rudolf Weber Arena in Oberhausen. For the “Leberking” it will also be his first title defense as the interim WBC champion.
What’s going on in Fight Week?
In any case, the countdown to Fight Week has begun. The “Open Workout” will take place today (Wednesday, January 7), starting at 6:00 pm. A press conference will follow on Thursday (January 8), before the boxers’ “Ceremonial Weigh-In” begins on Friday (January 9) at 6:00 pm. All events will take place in Düsseldorf at Areal Böhler, Hall 29 (Hansaallee 321, 40549 Düsseldorf). The press conference and weigh-in will be broadcast live on DAZN.
When does the transfer start?
On Saturday (January 10), the streaming service will broadcast the four fights of the so-called “Early Undercard” from 4.05 pm. These are free and available to everyone in the app or via the DAZN YouTube channel. The channel will begin broadcasting the undercard (three fights) from 6.45 pm, before the two fights on the main card follow.
The evening in Oberhausen will be hosted by presenter Laura Wontorra and expert Regina Halmich. Commentator Uli Hebel and experts Bernd Bönte and Andreas Selak will accompany the fights. The ringwalk for the main fight with Agit Kabayel (live on pay-per-view on DAZN) is currently expected at around 10.00 pm.
Who is boxing in the supporting program?
Some German boxing hopefuls will also get the chance to shine on the big stage in the supporting program of Homecoming. The “co-main event” of the evening will also take place in the heavyweight division: AGON boxer Granit Shala (18-1, 7 knockouts) meets Croatian Peter Milas (19-1, 15 knockouts), with the IBF International title on the line.
Cuban Jadier Herrera (17-0, 5 knockouts) and Ricardo Nunez (26-7, 22 knockouts) from Panama will fight for the WBC interim lightweight title. It is likely to be the best fight on the undercard in sporting terms. Nelvie Tiafack, bronze medal winner from Paris 2024, will also be competing in Oberhausen. The Cologne heavyweight (2-0, 2 knockouts) is contesting his third professional fight and will face Piotr Cwik (9-5, 8th knockout) from Poland. There will also be a Fury at the Kabayel show: heavyweight Roman Fury (5-0, 2 knockouts), brother of former world champion Tyson Fury, will duel with “Green Machine” Kevin Greenwood (6-11-0, 1 knockout).
