WBA champion Gervonta Davis is wanted by the police on a warrant for domestic violence. The scandalous boxer was due to fight a show fight against Jake Paul in November.

The situation is becoming increasingly critical for scandalous boxer Gervonta Davis. As the police in Miami Gardens, Florida (USA), announced at a press conference on Wednesday, an arrest warrant has been issued for Gervonta Davis. This is in connection with an alleged case of domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend Courtney Rossel at the end of October, as reported by “The Ring”.
US marshals search for “tank”
Miami Gardens Police Chief Emmanuel Jeanty said the Miami Gardens Police Department and the United States Marshals Service search unit are working together to locate Davis, who lives in the Miami area. The 31-year-old WBA lightweight champion is charged with assault, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping. Video footage is expected to corroborate Rossel’s statement about the incident on the night of October 27.
The woman claimed Davis grabbed her by the head and neck and dragged her against her will from a Miami Gardens strip club where she worked as a VIP cocktail waitress. She claimed that the boxer dragged her through the back exit into a nearby parking garage and abused her there. Rossel filed a complaint shortly afterwards and filed a lawsuit against Davis.
Abused several times
Davis was born in Baltimore and has repeatedly come into conflict with the law in the past. He was due to fight Jake Paul in a cruiserweight showdown on November 14. However, the boxing YouTube star canceled the fight against Davis due to the allegations .
Courtney Rossel also stated that Davis had abused her several times during their five-month relationship. The relationship ended about a month before Oct. 27, according to her testimony. Two months after domestic violence charges against another woman (the mother of two of his three children) were dropped, Rossel filed charges. Police arrested Davis back in June 2023 in his hometown of Baltimore for violating the terms of his house arrest. This was the result of a hit-and-run accident in November 2020. Davis was released after 44 days in custody.
Withdrawal of title and end of career?
Gervonta “Tank” Davis (30-0-1, 28 knockouts) has only fought two fights since his release from prison in July 2023. The WBA world champion had to settle for a controversial draw against Lamont Roach in his last fight on March 1 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. It is uncertain whether Davis will box again in the near future. Due to the serious allegations and the arrest warrant that has been issued, it is likely that the WBA will strip him of his lightweight world title in the near future.
