The show fight between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis scheduled for November 14 in Miami will not take place. As Paul’s promoter company Most Valuable Promotions(MVP) confirmed on Monday evening, the event has been canceled following new allegations of violence against Davis. Davis’ former partner Courtney Rossel filed a civil lawsuit in Miami-Dade County Court on Thursday. She accuses the multiple world champion of assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping and psychological violence.

MVP CEO Nakisa Bidarian explained that the decision was made “responsibly and in close consultation with all those involved”. At the same time, he announced that Jake Paul would still lead a Netflix event in 2025. Location, opponent and date to follow shortly. Jake Paul (12-1, 7 knockouts) apologized via social media to fans and fellow fighters affected by the last-minute cancellation. The scheduled fight night was originally supposed to feature four world title fights and a title unification on the undercard.

US media report that replacement opponents for Paul are already being examined – including prominent names such as Andre Ward, Francis Ngannou, Nate Diaz, Ryan Garcia and Terence Crawford. For Davis (30-0-1, 28 knockouts) it is the next setback outside the ring. It was only in August that another domestic violence case against him was dropped.
