“The One” Angelo Pena defends his WBO Intercontinental title on April 3 against Spaniard Salvador Jimenez at the Stadttheater in Bern.

Unbeaten Swiss professional boxer Angelo Pena (31) will meet Spaniard Salvador Jimenez (30) on Good Friday, April 3, 2026. The 165-centimetre boxer from Valladolid was Spanish champion and EBU European super featherweight champion. With a fight record of 15 wins, 2 defeats and 1 draw, Jimenez has extensive international experience.
Training camp in Las Vegas
Last year, Jimenez competed in two of the world’s leading boxing promotions. In both Top Rank and Queensberry, he only lost on points against top-class opponents away from home – against the US American Andres Cortes, currently WBO number 4, and the Brit Ryan Garner, the current EBU European champion.
For Pena, currently number 6 in the WBO rankings, this fight offers the opportunity to defend his WBO Intercontinental title for the fourth time in a row. At the same time, the duel will allow him to compare himself with the boxers directly ahead of him in the international rankings. Pena has been preparing specifically for this challenge at a training camp in Las Vegas since the beginning of February.
The fight will take place as part of the “Boxing instead of Theatre” event, which is organized annually on Good Friday at the Bern City Theatre in Switzerland by Swiss Pro Boxing.
