The “Night of the Heavyweights” in Mannheim on May 15 will be the first Ringside Zone event to be broadcast live by ARD.

ARD’s boxing comeback: the public broadcaster has signed a cooperation agreement with boxing promotion Ringside Zone (RSZ). As RSZ boss Florian Winter explained, the “Night of the Heavyweights” on May 15 in Mannheim’s SAP Arena will be broadcast live by ARD.
“We are incredibly pleased that our event on May 15 will be streamed live for the first time in the ARD Mediathek and via ‘Sportschau’ and is therefore free to watch,” Winter proudly announced via social media.
MDR provides expertise in transmission
Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR) will be traveling to Mannheim with its own team and reporting on site. Headquartered in Leipzig, MDR has been broadcasting boxing events for many years. As part of its “Sport im Osten” format, the regional broadcaster shows fight nights on its channels in cooperation with SES Boxing.
For Winter (“We are very much looking forward to the partnership with ARD”), this is another milestone. The aim of the still young boxing promotion Ringside Zone is to give professional boxing more publicity in Germany and to create new boxing stars.
