Fai Phannarai celebrates a strong debut in the bantamweight division at St. Pauli. With a T.K.O. victory against Lena Venjacob, “The Diamond” wins the WBF title and remains unbeaten.

New weight class – next victory: Fai Phannarai (19-0, 7 knockouts). celebrated the 19th victory of her professional career on May Day in Hamburg. For the first time, the 24-year-old competed at bantamweight and thus one limit below her traditional weight class, super bantam. However, this did not cause her any problems, quite the opposite. “The Diamond” landed her first early victory in almost exactly three years against the clearly inferior Lena Venjacob (7-2, 6 knockouts) from Gütersloh with a T.K.O. in round two. Her reward was the WBF title.
The welterweight duel between Alexander Pavlov (24-6, 18 knockouts) and Dorde Krsmanovic (8-2-1, 4 knockouts) also ended prematurely. Local hero Pavlov won by technical knockout in the 3rd round after Krsmanovic dislocated his right shoulder during an action on the ring ropes. An unfortunate circumstance for the 19-year-old Bosnian, but nonetheless a deserved victory for the 37-year-old Pavlov, who also won the WBF title. There was another prominent comeback in the preliminary program: Sebastian Formella (27-3, 14 knockouts) returned to the ring in his home town after two years. He defeated Eduardo Reis (25-16, 19 knockouts) from Brazil by unanimous decision on points.
