O’Shaquie Foster and Raymond Ford have further heightened the tension ahead of their WBC World Super Featherweight Championship fight. At the official face-off in Houston, the two rivals faced each other directly for the first time – and made it clear that there is a lot at stake on Saturday at the Fertitta Center. Foster goes into his first title defense of his second reign as the reigning WBC world champion. The 31-year-old reclaimed the belt in a rematch against Robson Conceicao in November 2024, having previously lost it by a very narrow margin. Most recently, “Ice Water” impressed with a clear points victory over Stephen Fulton Jr. in San Antonio.
Raymond Ford, on the other hand, wants to take the next big step. The former WBA featherweight world champion moved up to super featherweight after his dramatic title win against Otabek Kholmatov and has already won three fights there. Now “Savage” wants to become world champion in a second weight class.
