Over 80,000 fans have secured tickets: Katie Taylor thrills a sold-out Croke Park ahead of her final professional fight against Flora Pilli

Ireland’s boxing superstar Katie Taylor has expressed her delight that Croke Park, the national stadium, is completely sold out for her final professional fight against Flora Pilli on September 5.
More than 80,000 spectators will pack the iconic stadium in Dublin, home of the Gaelic Athletic Association, as the Irish boxing legend steps into the ring for his final professional bout. At stake is the undisputed super lightweight world title.
“It’s unbelievable,” Taylor told Matchroom Boxing. “I woke up this morning—I’m currently in America, where we’re five hours behind—and checked my phone. I couldn’t believe we were actually sold out. Honestly, I’m overwhelmed. I never would have dared to dream of this. A packed Croke Park—it’s going to be an incredible event. What a way to end my career.”
Taylor’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, was also thrilled:
“This is going to be the biggest sporting event in Irish history. I know promoters often say they could have sold out the arena twice over, but the demand for these tickets was enormous. Honestly, Katie could easily have sold another 50,000 to 60,000 tickets.”
What we did together with Katie, Peter Aiken of Aiken Promotions, and Brian Peters was set fair prices. The cheapest tickets cost 38 euros, and family packages were available starting at 32 euros—which is practically unheard of.
“On September 5, we’ll experience the best atmosphere I’ve ever seen at a boxing event. Now Katie needs to keep working hard at training camp and then deliver in the ring to win this fight—live on DAZN, the global home of boxing.”
