AGON Sports is further expanding its strong Cuba axis and has secured the services of three highly talented athletes. Alejandro Claro Fiz (flyweight), Saidel Horta (featherweight) and Yusnier Sorsano Ruiz (middleweight) have signed contracts with the Berlin-based promotion. With the signing of the trio, AGON Sports is consistently focusing on technically outstanding Cuban boxers who have already proven their international class at amateur level.

Alejandro Claro Fiz (25) has a wealth of experience despite only one professional fight: 68 amateur fights, including 56 wins, speak for themselves. Saidel Horta (24), who has also only fought once professionally, has an impressive record of 64 wins from 74 amateur fights. Even more experienced is Yusnier Sorsano Ruiz (23), who has notched up 120 wins in 126 amateur fights and has already had two successful professional fights. All three have already competed in several international tournaments, including the Central American and Caribbean Championships, World Championships and the Olympic Games.

Fiz and Horta made their professional debuts in November at the “Cuban Boxing Night” organized by AGON Sports in Varadero, where they immediately impressed. Sorsano Ruiz also presented himself in strong form: After his debut in Berlin in September, he won his second professional fight early in Varadero and secured the WBA Fedelatin title.

AGON promoter Ingo Volckmann is convinced of the potential of his new recruits: “All three convinced me in their fights and made it clear that they want to go pro. Alejandro, Saidel and Yusnier are highly trained boxers who can go far in the pros! The next fights have already been scheduled and will be announced soon.”

With these commitments, AGON Sports is once again underlining its ambitions to develop top international boxers. The next assignments of the three talents are to be announced shortly.
