Dominant victory for Jürgen Doberstein – GBC world champion extends winning streak against Hamisi Maya in Bassenheim.

Super middleweight Jürgen Doberstein (33-5-1, 9 knockouts) successfully defended his Global Boxing Council (GBC) world title with a clear points victory against Tanzanian Hamisi Maya (17-6-1, 14 knockouts). The fight took place yesterday evening in the Karmelenberg Halle in Bassenheim.
Doberstein dominated the twelve-round fight for long stretches and controlled the action from the outset. The judges scored unanimously in the German’s favor: 119-110, 118-110 and 119-111. With this victory, the German extended his winning streak to seven fights and also defeated his second Tanzanian opponent in a row after beating Twaha Kassimu last September to capture the vacant GBC title.
In the preliminary bout, unbeaten super welterweight Mahmoud El Shibany (14-0, 8 knockouts) continued his winning streak with a routine victory over the full distance of six rounds against Czech Miroslav Serban (15-21-2, 7 knockouts).
