Germany’s boxing icon Felix Sturm will step into the ring for the last time on July 11. However, Granit Stein will be anything but an easy farewell opponent in Stuttgart.

The final curtain will rise for Felix Sturm on July 11 in the Porsche Arena Stuttgart. Germany’s long-time crowd favorite will fight his official farewell fight there – and will be presented with an opponent in Granit Stein who is anything but a gift in sporting terms. Sturm left his mark on German boxing for over two decades. The former world champion of various federations delivered great world championship evenings, filled arenas and wrote boxing history with his controversial defeat to Oscar De La Hoya at the latest. Now the 47-year-old’s career is coming to an end after more than 50 professional fights.
However, Granit Stein is an extremely unpleasant opponent. The aggressive pressure fighter has impressed with strong performances of late and is regarded as extremely uncomfortable both physically and in terms of boxing. His constant forward momentum in particular could pose problems for Sturm. Although the former world champion still brings enormous experience and technical class to the table, he has recently appeared much more controlled and measured in his style. This is precisely why the duel promises more sporting excitement than you would expect from a classic farewell match.
In addition to the main fight, the event in Stuttgart will include more than ten other professional fights. This is made possible by the cooperation between Sturm Boxing and Ringside Zone.
