Multiple world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. has announced that he will end his eight-year retirement. His last official professional fight took place in 2017 against MMA star Conor McGregor. It was McGregor’s first and so far only professional boxing match. “I still have what it takes to set more records in boxing,” Mayweather explained in a statement. “From my upcoming Mike Tyson event to my next pro fight after that, no one will generate a bigger gate, reach a bigger global broadcast audience and make more money with each event [than] my events.”

Since his retirement, Mayweather has contested numerous exhibition fights, including a draw against blogger Logan Paul. On April 25, he will step into the ring in another exhibition fight against former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson in the Democratic Republic of Congo. According to a published statement, Mayweather has also signed an exclusive agreement with CSI Sports and Fight Sports.
