Local hero Freddy Kiwitt wins early and remains WBF World Champion – Lara Ochmann is also crowned WBF title holder in Flensburg!

Local hero Freddy Kiwitt (27-3, 17 knockouts) celebrated a commanding TKO victory over Venezuelan Evander Castillo at the “Flensburg boxt!” boxing evening at the Deutsches Haus on Saturday evening, successfully defending his WBF light middleweight title.
Around 800 fans cheered Kiwitt, who increasingly dominated the aggressive Castillo from round five onwards after initial pressure. In round seven, the South American had to be counted twice, followed by a premature end in round 9: After a hard hail of punches, Castillo’s corner threw in the towel. It was Kiwitt’s 17th premature victory.

A German boxer also shone in the second world championship fight of the evening: Lara Ochmann from Magdeburg secured the vacant WBF super featherweight world title with a unanimous points victory over Japan’s Akane Fujiwara. The 25-year-old controlled the action with a clever defense and precise jab – the judges scored it 100:90 and 2x 99:91. Promoter Sebastian Claussen has already announced the next big event: “Flensburg boxt!” will return to the large GP JOULE Arena on November 22. Kiwitt could even squeeze in a fight abroad before then.
