When the AGON Fight Night takes place in Berlin on September 12, Hamsat Shadalov will climb into the ring as the main fighter for the first time in his professional career.
September 12 is the day. AGON boxer Hamsat Shadalov (11-0, 3 knockouts) steps into the ring as the main fighter for the first time at the Uber Eats Music Hall in Berlin. The unbeaten local hero will face the equally unbeaten Spaniard Alex de la Rosa (10-0, 4 knockouts) in his most important professional fight to date. For both super featherweights (up to 58.967 kilos), the duel of the unbeaten is for an international WBA title.
First sparring, now fine tuning
For Shadalov, this evening means far more than just another fight. “As a child, every boxer dreamed of being a main event fighter one day. For me, a small dream will come true on September 12 in my home town,” says the 26-year-old.
The preparation went perfectly: over 50 rounds of sparring with different partners gave Shadalov the finishing touches. “In the last week, the focus is on technique and claw work – the finishing touches, so to speak. The sparring sessions were very good, I feel ready,” he explains.
Paul Wall “is also in top shape”
Shadalov will be joined in the ring by his childhood friend and training partner Paul Wall, who is boxing for the German half-middleweight championship. “It’s something special that we’re both competing in front of a home crowd this evening. Paul is in top shape and wants to win his first title. That gives us both an extra push.”
For Shadalov, the home match is a unique motivation. “Stepping into the ring as the main fighter at home, in front of friends and family, is a cool experience. Many fans even travel from Austria, Finland and various German cities to support us. That means a lot to me.” The Berliner is determined not only to meet expectations, but to exceed them: “I’m looking forward to the event and want to do more than just shine. We will give our all to inspire the fans.”
