Hamsat Shadalov dominates in Berlin – WBA Mediterranean title, Alvarez shines in AGON co-main event, Wall becomes German champion.

German super featherweight Hamsat Shadalov celebrated a clear points victory over previously unbeaten Spaniard Alex de la Rosa at the Uber Eats Music Hall in Berlin on Saturday night. In the main bout of the AGON event, the 26-year-old secured the WBA Middleweight title with a unanimous points decision and extended his professional record to 12-0 (3 knockouts).
De la Rosa (10-1, 4 knockouts) came in overweight, so the title was only at stake for Shadalov. Despite the weight disadvantage, the German dominated the fight. His left jab to the head in particular caused de la Rosa to falter – the Spaniard had to hold on to the ropes to avoid being knocked down. The referee and judges correctly judged the scene as a knockdown.
In the sixth round, Shadalov landed another hard strike that once again brought de la Rosa to his knees. Shadalov pushed for an early end, but the Spaniard bravely saved himself until the final bell. The judges’ verdicts were 98-92, 98-92 and 99-98 in Shadalov’s favor.
In the co-main event, former amateur world champion Lazaro Alvarez (9-0, 5 knockouts) impressed with a commanding performance. The Cuban defended his WBA Continental Americas lightweight title against Venezuelan Angel Rodriguez unanimously on points (98-92, 98-92, 100-90) and thus remains unbeaten.
There was also pure action in the supporting program: Paul Wall (10-0, 7 knockouts) claimed the BDB German super welterweight title with a T.K.O. victory in round three against Hamburg’s Antonio Fechner (7-3, 2 knockouts). After a one-sided punch combination, Fechner’s trainer Khoren Gevor decided to stop the fight by entering the ring himself.
