Harlem Eubank secured the IBF Intercontinental Welter title with a TKO victory over Tyrone McKenna in Brighton on Saturday.

Brighton, England – Harlem Eubank (21-0, 9 knockouts) maintained his unblemished record with a dominant tenth round TKO victory over Irish veteran Tyrone McKenna (24-6-1, 7 knockouts). The Wasserman-promoted welterweight floored McKenna three times to impressively secure the IBF Intercontinental title.
McKenna went down for the first time in round five after a targeted body combination. Eubank continued to apply consistent pressure and sent his opponent to the floor again in the seventh round. In a one-sided encounter, referee Jon Latham was finally forced to stop the fight at 2:09 minutes of the tenth round after Eubank landed several hard shots to the head.
“He’s a tough guy, you don’t often see fighters like that. He fights for his people, never gives up, and you saw that today,” said Eubank, praising his opponent after the fight. The 31-year-old local hero not only secured the title in his home town of Brighton, but is now likely to climb into the top 15 of the IBF world rankings.
Michael Conlan celebrates comeback victory on the undercard
On the undercard, Michael Conlan (19-3, 9 knockouts) returned with a points win over India’s Asad Asif Khan (19-6-1, 5 knockouts). The featherweight, also promoted by Wasserman, won by a clear 78-74 verdict from referee Bob Williams.

Conlan had recently suffered two bitter knockout defeats. In May 2023, he suffered a brutal knockout defeat to IBF world champion Luis Alberto Lopez in round five in his home city of Belfast. Six months later, he failed in his comeback against England’s Jordan Gill, who stopped him in the seventh round. This victory should now give Conlan new impetus for the rest of his career.
