According to a report from Ring Magazine, a thrilling heavyweight showdown is on the horizon as Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (26-1-2, 22 knockouts) and Michael “The Bounty” Hunter (24-1-2, 17 knockouts) will clash in the main event of the evening on September 11 in Las Vegas. The duel takes place just two days before the mega-fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford at the Allegiant Stadium and is part of the top-class Fight Week in the gambling metropolis.

Miller: Hunter instead of Wardley or Anderson

Miller was originally scheduled to fight WBA interim world champion Fabio Wardley on June 7 in Ipswich, England, but had to withdraw due to a shoulder injury. In the meantime, a duel with Jared Anderson was on the cards, but now the matchmaking has moved in Hunter’s direction.

It is the first ring appearance for “Big Baby” Miller in over a year. He last split with Andy Ruiz in 2024 as part of the Crawford-Madrimov fight in Los Angeles with a draw by majority decision.

Clear announcement in the direction of the title fight

Hunter, on the other hand, has not lost a fight since his only career defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in 2017. The US-American last celebrated a 5th round T.K.O. victory against the largely unknown Christian Larrando Garcia in Mexico in December. In the current world rankings, Hunter is ranked number one by the WBA and number seven by the IBF – a clear indication that he is ready to fight for world titles again.
