Naoya Inoue, also known as “Monster”, once again proved his class by beating Ireland’s TJ Doheny with ease.

The 31-year-old Inoue controlled the fight from the start and showed why he is considered one of the most dangerous boxers in the world. Doheny, a seasoned veteran who has enjoyed a bit of a career renaissance in recent years, came out bravely but could not withstand Inoue’s explosive power. Despite his efforts and occasional hits, Doheny was unable to seriously trouble Inoue. The Japanese fighter’s precise attacks and relentless pressure made it impossible for the 37-year-old challenger to develop. The fight was finally decided in the seventh round when Doheny suffered a back injury after a series of heavy hits to the ribs and retired.
The triumph marks Inoue’s 28th win in 28 fights, 25 of them by knockout, and cements his status as one of the most dominant boxers in the world. The “Monster” expressed his respect for Doheny after the fight and emphasized that he is still working to improve. His promoter Bob Arum confirmed after the fight that the Undisputed Superbantam champion will return to the ring in Japan at the end of the year as usual, before taking to the ropes again in the USA in 2025. For Doheny, on the other hand, this setback is likely to mean the end of his hopes for one last major title fight.
