The WBC cruiserweight title has changed hands several times in recent years. Jack captured the belt over two years ago with a technical knockout in the twelfth round against Ilunga Makabu. He later relinquished the title, whereupon Mikaelian fought Makabu for the vacant belt in Miami. However, due to a contract dispute with promoter Don King, a regular title defense never took place – and the WBC eventually reinstated Jack as champion.
On December 13, Noel Mikaelian will finally get the chance to reclaim the belt in the ring – and settle his score with Badou Jack.
