World Boxing has passed the 100-member mark after the board approved the applications of 17 national federations. This means that the World Olympic Boxing Federation now has 106 countries. Among the newest members are some of the most successful nations in amateur boxing, including Cuba, Ireland and Spain.

“To have passed the 100 national federations mark in just over two years is a tremendous achievement,” said Word Boxing President Boris van der Vorst. “I would like to thank all my colleagues and each of our members for their support and commitment to ensuring that boxing remains at the heart of the Olympic Movement.”
