That was the total purse, converted into euros, for the rematch on December 21, 2024 between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.
The total purse for the ring spectacle Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury II amounted to the equivalent of 180 million euros. According to reports, Usyk took 60 percent of this – that makes 108 million euros. Challenger Tyson Fury received 40 percent of the cake, pocketing 72 million euros.
The first fight in February 2024 had already provided the two heavyweight rivals with a lucrative payday. This “only” generated a total purse of around 140 million euros, 40 million less than the rematch.
The second duel paid off for Usyk in particular, who was fobbed off with a 30:70 split of the purse in the first fight. Now the old and new champion received a whopping 30 percent more.
