That’s how many boxers the German Boxing Association (DBV) is sending to the World Boxing Championships in Liverpool, which start on September 4.

The DBV’s squad of athletes includes: Women – Maxi Klötzer (weight class up to 51 kg), Tatjana Obermeier (-54 kg), Leonie Müller (-70 kg); Men – Denis Bril (-65 kg), Magomed Schachidov (-70 kg), Ben Ehis (-80 kg), Ammar Abduljabbar (-85 kg), Yasse Cisse (-90 kg), Nikita Putilov (+90 kg).

Training camp with top nations

The German team traveled to England at the beginning of the week, where they will first take part in an international training camp in Sheffield. In addition to the host association GB Boxing, boxers from the top nations of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, India, France and Ireland will also be competing there. At the World Championships , which start on September 4, medals will be up for grabs in the ten weight categories for men and women. Ten days of competition are planned until the final medal decisions are made on September 14.
