Boxing idol Rocky Marciano enters the ring for the last time on September 21, 1955 at the age of 32. He then hangs up his boxing gloves. In a tough fight, in which “The Brockton Blockbuster” is even knocked down in the second round, he triumphs in the end with a clear knockout victory over Archie Moore. With an unblemished record of 49 wins and not a single defeat, he retires unbeaten. Rocky Marciano thus makes boxing history. His record stands until 2017, when it is surpassed by Floyd Mayweather Jr.
