Oscar Collazo defended his WBO and WBA minimumweight titles with relentless pressure and precise body shots before Jesús Haro’s corner threw in the towel in the sixth round at the Honda Center in Anaheim.

Undefeated WBO and WBA World Minimumweight Champion Oscar Collazo successfully defended his title against Jesús Haro at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The fight night was organized by Oscar De La Hoya. Collazo (14-0, 11 knockouts) met Haro in the co-main event of Arnold Barboza Jr’s event against Kenneth Sims Jr and came out on top in front of the DAZN cameras.
Haro (13-4, 2 knockouts) looked much smaller in the ring than the champion and was increasingly pushed backwards from the third round onwards. Collazo increased the pressure in the fourth and landed several hard right hands to the body. In round five, the defending champion also began to land clear punches to the head, while Haro had increasing problems defending the body shots. Commentator Chris Mannix noted during the broadcast that Haro was “slowly melting away”.
Collazo continued his relentless forward progress in the sixth round. The constant pressure and precise body shots eventually forced Haro’s corner to throw in the towel at the end of the round, allowing the Puerto Rican to record an early TKO victory. Further down the undercard, undisputed flyweight world champion Gabriela Fundora (18-0, 10 knockouts) defended her title for the third time in a row. She stopped Viviana Ruiz (10-3, 5 knockouts) by knockout in the sixth round. The official time of the stoppage was 1:25 minutes.
