A few weeks ago, world champion Nina Meinke signed a contract with Ringside Zone. Now the likeable Berliner is set to become the driving force behind promoter Florian Winter’s promotion. On Friday (March 20), “The Brave” will defend her IBF featherweight belt in Hamburg’s Fischauktionshalle. The exclusive boxing event will be held under the motto “World-class boxing meets fine dining & networking”.

Meinke meets “machine”

Around 400 guests will be there live in the extraordinary location when Meinke (20-3, 4 knockouts) takes on Dyana Vargas (20-2-1, 13 knockouts) over 12 rounds of 3 minutes. In addition to the IBF title, the IBO title is also at stake in Meinke vs. Vargas. The 34-year-old from the Dominican Republic – fight name “La Maquina” (the machine) – crossed fists with WBC world champion Skye Nicolson in 2024, but lost by unanimous decision.

Unusual boxing location: the fish auction hall in Hamburg-Altona.

Ringside Zone is sending even more fighters into the ring on Friday. Heavyweights Emanuel Odiase, Peter Kadiru and Viktor Jurk will be in action, as will Felix Langberg from Rostock and light heavyweight Alexander Okafor. Odiase will face Kostiantyn Dovbyshchenko (10-19-1, 7 knockouts). The Ukrainian has already been in the ring with greats such as Moses Itauma and Damian Knyba, but lost these duels by a clear margin.

The boxing event on March 20, which marks the start of the “Ringside Zone Series 2026”, will be streamed by BILD Plus.
