Big anniversary, big fights: SES Boxing celebrates 25 years with two title duels in Magdeburg – Fress and Reis with clear announcements at the PK!

On May 17, 2025, SES Boxing will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a big anniversary gala on the Seebühne Magdeburg – including two top-class title fights. SES promoter Ulf Steinforth made an emotional statement at the press conference on Wednesday.
“When you approach such a big anniversary, you have so many memories, thoughts and positive emotions in your head – but there is also a lot of gratitude to our entire SES team, to the many and above all long-standing companions, partners and contributors. So 2025 is and will be a memorable and important year for SES Boxing. We are celebrating our 25th anniversary, making us something of a “veteran” in the global boxing scene, and with this SES Anniversary Boxing Gala we can now look back on over 180 successful events and more than 300 title fights, from world to German championships. Only very few boxing stables in the history of boxing worldwide or even in Germany have been able to achieve this. With these two title fights, we will, as always, deliver again!”
Food and rice confident of victory
In the first main bout, cruiserweight Roman Fress meets Michael Seitz. The fight is for the vacant WBO Intercontinental title, which Fress once held himself. “First of all, I’m proud to be fighting the main fight at this anniversary event. Losing that WBO title back then has turned me into the boxer who only looks forward today and, to put it bluntly, I’m obsessed – this thing has to be reclaimed. That’s how it’s going to be against Michael Seitz – I’m going to get ‘my’ WBO Inter-Conti belt back. Only then can I keep going up!” His opponent Seitz countered confidently: “I’ve been able to prepare for this fight for a very long time and I’ve already said that I’m not coming here to Magdeburg to play table tennis. We analyzed Roman and rehearsed a few things. I’m pretty sure that I’m going to rock it. Now there’s only one thing to do – I have to win here!”
In the second title fight, SES hopeful Artur Reis will fight Croatian Mate Rudan for the IBF Europe super middleweight title. Reis said at the press conference: “Now I also want to get into the top 15 in the IBF. I have the right opponent in Mate Rudan and I need this tough challenge. I want to knock on the top again!” His opponent Rudan announced: “I know the strengths of Artur Reis – we have our antidotes – our clear strategy!”
The gala not only marks a sporting highlight, but also a milestone in German boxing history. SES can look back on over 300 title fights and almost 200 events – a record that speaks for itself.
