Title hunt in Bavaria: Granit Shala meets the experienced Alexandru Jur at “Ring of Fire 20” – and promises his fans an explosive finish!

The fight week has begun! Next Saturday, June 28, AGON heavyweight Granit Shala will step into the ring at the Infinity Hotel in Unterschleißheim near Munich for the next big title fight at “Ring of Fire 20”. Following his successes as IBF International and IBO Inter-Continental Champion, he will now fight for the vacant WBA Continental title. His opponent is the experienced Romanian Alexandru Jur (21 wins, six defeats), who replaces the originally scheduled Ukrainian Bohdan Myronets at short notice.
Despite the change, the 28-year-old Shala (17 wins, one defeat) is confident and combative: “He’s an experienced man. I still feel like the favorite. I know that I will win the fight.” Due to the change of opponent, Shala had to adjust his tactics: “Against the Ukrainian, we planned to stand and press him. Now, against the Romanian, we’re boxing more from a distance. And of course we’re looking for an early finish. Anything else would be a disappointment for me, for all of us, I think.”
Shala is in the final stages of his intensive preparation under coach Agron Kurtisi during the competition week. The final sparring phase has been completed and now only the finishing touches are on the program. Granit Shala: “I’m really fit and feel good. Now it’s time for the finishing touches.”
“Granit is highly motivated”
Granit Shala’s long-time coach Agron Kurtisi confirms: “Granit is highly motivated and had an excellent preparation in which he improved from week to week. Of course we would have liked to have beaten our original opponents from Ukraine, but we are taking the situation professionally, adapting our tactical elements and staying focused.”
Mentally in particular, the Landshut native feels stronger than ever. Not least due to his development in recent fights: “I’ve made a mental leap, especially since the fight with Daniel Dietz. I’ve become even more relaxed, even more experienced. In December, I had my back to the wall, there was a lot of pressure. I coped well with that and it helped me mentally and made me stronger.” Shala has a clear message for his fans: “You can expect a fast, explosive Granit, who will and wants the early finish.”
The fight night in Unterschleißheim at the Infinity Hotel once again promises top boxing with the participation of the AGON stable – with a highly motivated heavyweight who wants to take the next step towards the top of the world. There are more exciting duels on the undercard. Tickets for the event are available at http://www.ringoffire-tickets.com.
