His retirement is only a few weeks old and Terence Crawford is back in the spotlight. At the second Ring Awards Gala at the Cipriani, he is honored as “Fighter of the Year 2025”. The decisive factor is his victory on points against Canelo Alvarez, which Crawford won in September at the Allegiant Stadium.

Crawford moved up two weight classes for the fight, winning unanimously on points 116-112 and twice 115-113, making him the first male boxer in the four-belt era to be undisputed champion in three divisions.

On December 16, the man from Omaha then announced his retirement. He says he is 38, which is “old in boxing”, and that he has “nothing more to prove”. During conversations in New York, he sounds relaxed: He is enjoying his time off, is spending more time with his children and no longer has to think about the next camp every day.
