Granit Shala knocks out Jur – and now wants Peter Kadiru!

AGON heavyweight Granit Shala ends WBA title fight against Alexandru Jur impressively by knockout in round two – and sends a message to Peter Kadiru.

Clear victory, clear announcement! Granit Shala (now 18 wins, one loss) secured the vacant “WBA Continental Europe” title on Saturday evening at “Ring of Fire 20” in the Infinity Hotel Unterschleissheim. The 28-year-old won in impressive style, defeating the experienced Romanian Alexandru Jur (21 wins, seven losses) by knockout in the second round.

Fast jabs – hard rights!

Shala moved a lot from the back right from the start. He repeatedly used his quick jab to keep Jur at a distance. His right jab also found its target several times. The AGON heavyweight was precise and explosive in his attack on his opponent. In the second round, it was a hard right punch to the head that staggered Jur. The Romanian staggered backwards, Shala immediately smelled his chance and followed up with determination. A series of further punches forced Jur to the ground on the ring ropes, where the referee counted him out.

Shala had already announced in advance that anything other than an early victory would be a disappointment. “You can expect a fast, explosive Granit who will and wants the early finish” – and that’s exactly what he delivered. Granit Shala has thus impressively secured the third major title of his career, after the “IBF International” and “IBO Intercontinental” belts, which he won last year against Daniel Dietz.

Volckmann: “If Peter dares, we are ready!”

While still in the ring, Shala challenged an old companion from his amateur days, who is also in the professional ranks. “I would love to box against Peter Kadiru! We’ve already fought each other in the amateurs. Peter, let’s do it in the pros too!” Promoter Ingo Volckmann added in the ring: “If Peter dares, we’re ready!”

After the fight, there is much to suggest that Granit Shala’s path will continue to lead upwards. With three international titles under his belt, a clear challenge to Hamburg’s Peter Kadiru and a growing fan base, the next big fight should not be long in coming.
