Potsdam, MBS Arena – “Tiny” Tina Rupprecht has written boxing history: The Augsburg native unified all four major world titles in the atomweight division and crowned herself the undisputed world champion after defeating Japan’s Sumire Yamanaka in a thrilling fight by majority decision.

Rupprecht (15-1-1, 3 knockouts) not only successfully defended her WBA, WBC and WBO titles, but also snatched the IBF belt from Yamanaka (8-1, 3 knockouts), who had only won it three months ago in Japan against Mika Iwakawa. Two judges saw Rupprecht clearly ahead (96-95 and 99-91), while a third scored it a draw (95-95). This makes Rupprecht the first German ever to win all four world championship belts in one weight class – a historic milestone in German women’s boxing. This top event was made possible by promoter Ulf Steinforth.

The fight itself was a tactical test of strength between two different boxing styles. In the first rounds, Rupprecht dominated with constant forward momentum and controlled pressure, while Yamanaka lurked on the counter. In the second half, the Japanese fighter stepped up the pace, sought an open exchange of punches and tried to turn the tide. However, Rupprecht’s experience, ring intelligence and work rate proved decisive.

Yamanaka, who was boxing on European soil for the first time, not only lost the title but also suffered her first defeat as a professional. For Rupprecht, this is the crowning glory of an impressive career. After a successful run of title defenses at minimumweight, where she defended her WBC belt five times, she lost it two years ago to Seniesa Estrada. But she came back stronger and secured the WBC atomweight title against Fabiana Bytyqi – now she holds all four belts. The German boxing world is celebrating a new queen: Tina Rupprecht – undisputed world atomweight champion.
