Lauren Price dominates Natasha Jonas in London to unify the IBF, WBA & WBC welterweight titles.

Lauren Price (9-0, 2 knockouts) put in an impressive performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London, clearly defeating Natasha Jonas (16-3-1, 9 knockouts). And thus unified the IBF, WBA and WBC welterweight titles. The Olympic champion delivered an almost flawless performance and secured a unanimous points victory with scores of 98-92, 98-93 and 100-90.
From the first round onwards, Price controlled the fight with outstanding footwork and precise punching technique. One of the three judges even gave her every single round. Jonas had visible problems with Price’s speed and agility from the third round onwards. Time and again, the Welshman landed hard lefts and clever combinations, while she skillfully moved out of the danger zone almost every time Jonas countered with power punches.
By the time the second half of the fight started, the Sky Sports commentary team had already scored all the rounds for Price. Jonas was under pressure, but was unable to make a decisive impact. Price stuck to her gameplan in a disciplined manner and celebrated a dominant points victory.
Caroline Dubois defends WBC lightweight title against Bo Mi Re Shin
Caroline Dubois (11-0, 5 knockouts) secured her first win as WBC World Lightweight Champion, defeating South Korean Bo Mi Re Shin (18-3-3, 10 knockouts) by majority decision. While one judge scored the fight a 95-95 draw, the other two saw Dubois clearly ahead with scores of 98-92 and 98-93.
The 24-year-old dominated the first eight rounds with technical superiority and supreme control. She showed that she had quickly settled into her role as world champion. However, Shin turned up the heat in the last two rounds: After an unfortunate clash of heads in round nine, the South Korean scored with a cracking right hand that staggered Dubois. In the tenth round, Shin went for the knockout and landed wild combinations, including a powerful uppercut just before the final bell. Nevertheless, Dubois held on and successfully defended her title.
With these victories, both Price and Dubois consolidate their positions at the top of their weight classes and underline the strength of British women’s boxing on the world stage.
