Etinosa Oliha is eagerly looking forward to his first world championship fight. The AGON pro aims to defeat Aaron McKenna in Dublin on Saturday and bring the IBF title back to Germany.
Etinosa Oliha is on the verge of the biggest fight of his career so far. On August 8, the undefeated AGON boxer will face local hero Aaron McKenna in Dublin. At stake for the 28-year-old is the vacant IBF middleweight world title—an opportunity he has had to wait a long time for. “There were moments when I had to be patient and trust the process. But I never stopped working,” Oliha told The Ring. “Now is my time.”
Oliha considers the Irishman McKenna a tough opponent, but feels he is well prepared. Together with his team, he has analyzed his opponent’s style. “Every boxer has weaknesses. You’ll see what we’ve prepared on fight night.” A world championship victory would mean far more to the AGON pro than just a belt. “That would be the reward for years of discipline and hard work. At the same time, it would only be the beginning.” AGON promoter Ingo Volckmann is also optimistic and is convinced that Oliha can bring the world championship title back to Germany.
